Special assistance
Travelling with extra support
Tell us what you need once, and it stays with your booking across every flight. Requests are easier to arrange the earlier they reach us.
Types of support
Mobility support
Wheelchair assistance from the terminal entrance to the aircraft door, and help with boarding and disembarking. Tell us whether you can manage steps and short distances so the right support is arranged.
Vision support
Guided assistance through the airport, a spoken safety briefing on board and help locating facilities. Guide dogs travel subject to the entry rules of the destination.
Hearing support
Face-to-face briefings from crew, written copies of announcements and visual confirmation of gate changes where available.
Medical needs
Oxygen, medical equipment and stretcher travel need clearance in advance. Please contact us at least 72 hours before departure with details from your doctor.
Travelling companions
If you are travelling with a carer or companion, book together so seats can be allocated side by side.
How a request works
- 1
Request assistance when you book, or afterwards through Manage booking, at least 48 hours before departure.
- 2
We confirm the request by email and note it against every flight in your booking.
- 3
Arrive at the airport at the earlier end of the check-in window and identify yourself at the assistance desk.
- 4
Airport staff stay with you through security, boarding and, at the other end, to the arrivals hall or onward transport.
